When I saw this little patch of grass with little white flowers I had one of those moments where everything fell into place.  A beautiful girl with gorgeous long hair, porcelain features and a sweet, sweet face,  a few little teddies and a large flowered hat.  I hardly had to anything but stand back and press the shutter...

These portraits were taken of a very reluctant 13 year old who came in with only her green t-shirt and hoodie and insisted that she would give me a mere 15 minutes and no more.  In the end our session lasted over 90 minutes and she might even admit that we had just a little bit of fun.  Mom and I were delighted with the final images that show so many different sides of this beautiful 13 year old.  These are some of my personal favourites from our session.

Maternity images by Blue Stone Photography

Originally I was so focused on photographing adorable newborn babies that I didn't consider maternity photography to be something I would be passionate about.  Boy was I wrong!!!  I find the energy, excitement and anticipation of expecting moms AND dads is so incredibly inspirational and uplifting to me.  I am finding this to be an entirely different type of photographic experience for me where I am pushing myself to try to create images that are unique, creative, romantic, sentimental and heartwarming. When I put tears in the eyes of an expectant mom then I know I have done my job.  When I get to meet and hold that new baby... well, that's just the icing on the cake!!

Little Miss 'O'

This adorable little girl recently came in for her 7 month portrait session.  You may remember seeing her smiling face in an  earlier post.  Take a look at how much she has grown.  Still one of the smiliest babies to date!!!
